Famed SF Icon and talented actress ANNE FRANCIS died yesterday at the age of 80.
I can't tell you how "Wowed" I was, when as a young boy I first laid eyes upon the beautiful Ms Francis when I first viewed the epic 1956 film FORBIDDEN PLANET! Yeah, Robby the Robot is cool... but ANNE as Altaira is.... well, breathtaking.
She also got my young hormones "a-going" when she played HONEY WEST (1965-6) on the small tube.
Well, she is now upon an even better and safer "planet" with good old Doc Morbius (her Dad, played by Walter Pidgeon), Commander Adams (Leslie Nielsen) and beau Jerry Farman (actor Jack Kelly).
As IMDb says: "one tall, cool drink of water..." RIP
