Some cool rat rods, from the dedicated Tumbler... Rat Rods Rule!

Doesn't that make you smile?

Must be owned by a diver, or a really innovative customizer

What better way to show pedestrians where the bus stop is?
See a gallery of the above South carolina prison bus rat rod at John's: http://oleragtop.blogspot.com/2009/11/yeah-turkey-rod-run-is-coming-this.html

The above green car... looks like a new idea in rat rods, take a newer than 1960 vehicle and made a rat rod from it by getting rid of all the body work forward of the firewall. This one looks like a Buick, but I can't recall the model
I don't think I've ever seen a rod quite like this, unless you count the early dragsters from the 50's that were using a long wheel base chassis to set back the body for weight transfer to aid traction.

Wow. I think I posted a photo of this one before, I think it's a Seagrave roadster ... how cool are the various cans to the back of the gas tank?!

A second look at the So Cal Suspension rat rod

Nice touch to put a glkass pack muffler on the exhaust

How cool is the shifter handle? A 3 foot long 1/2 inch drive socket wrench extension with any socket they like for a handle

The above knife switch, I can't remember asking if it were for lighting or battery power to ignition

great trunk lid handle

cool rat rods at El Cajon's season opener car cruise, the Garrett and Sons, and a former British Taxi

this one is from http://www.socal-suspension.com/ a local El Cajon busniess, and the saw blades on the front airbags are a cool touch

Here's the image of what it started life as... and for a good article on London Taxis showing up at car shows: http://www.classicaldrives.com/50226711/londons_iconic_taxicabs_spotted_in_classic_car_shows.php

The shifter is particularly cool, looks like a 3 or 4 foot long socket wrench extension with a 1 1/2" short impact socket. That is somethign I don't remember seeing used as a shifter in a rat rod or custom before... my compliments!
